Obituary for Vincent Zito Sr.

Vincent Joseph Zito, Sr., 87, of Westminster, died June 17, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Westminster.

Born March 23, 1925 in Baltimore County, he was the son of the late Vincent Zito, Jr.and Lena Elizabeth Nuth Zito. He was the husband of the late Betty J. Zito, who died in 1989.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the navy. Prior to retirement, he had worked as a pipe fitter for Maryland Cup for 25 years.

He attended the Church of the Open Door in Westminster, where he was a member of the Super Sixties. He also attended Northwest Baptist Church, where he enjoyed Sunday school. He was a member of the American Legion Post 31 and the V.F.W. Post 467 in Westminster.. He enjoyed coin collecting and his cat, Jellybean.

Surviving are his son, Vincent J. Zito, Jr. of Horsham, PA; his daughter, Gladys E. Linger of Westminster; granddaughters, Sonya Senkbeil of Upperco and Carly Zito of Rome, PA; grandson, Edwin Linger, III of Westminster; great-grandsons, Zachary Crigger, Ed Senkbeil and Ezekiel Senkbeil; great-granddaughters, Rebecca Senkbeil and Mackenzie Senkbeil. He will also be remembered by a dear friend, Roy Driever.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. John Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
