Jimmy Lee "Jim"  Brown
Jimmy "Jim" Lee Brown, 77, of Westminster, MD, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Dove House after a 16 month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Born on November 19, 1937 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Elmer Edward Brown and Margaret Priscilla (Miller) Brown. He was the loving husband of Brenda A. (Barnes) Brown.

Jim was a 1956 graduate of Martinsburg High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1956 to 1960 and then two years in the reserves. He was proud to have served aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Valley Forge CV545 - a Dirigible Early Warning Airship - Squadron ZWI, Atlantic Fleet. Jim was a Radioman First Class. The Veterans recognized Jimmy with a pinning ceremony at the Dove House. Jim retired from the Retail and Wholesale Tire and Service after 45 years; the last five years as owner and operator of Highland Tire and Service of Highlandtown (Baltimore Metro area).

He was an avid Raven's fan and loved football in general. He loved being with his family. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. He loved decorating for the holidays and being with the children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. He enjoyed watching the grandchildren play sports at school and rec council. He made friends no matter where he was. He enjoyed reminiscing about his days on the USS Valley Forge. He also enjoyed constructing small model airplanes. He enjoyed working in the yard and being outside. His favorite music was smooth jazz, big band music and the oldies from the 50's and 60's.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard "Dick" Brown and William "Bill" Brown.

He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 31 years. Jim was a very proud father of four great children - Vikki Boyce and husband Jack of Jarrettsville, MD; Jodi Collins and husband Mike of Parkton, MD; Lori Wolod and husband Steve of Stevensonville, MD; and Tim Brown and wife Terry of Sykesville, MD. He has one step-son Carroll Barnes of Westminster, MD and one brother Edward Brown of Las Vegas, NV. There are eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one great granddaughter - Adalynn and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the Celebration of Life at 12 noon, at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Road and Rte. 91, Finksburg, MD 21048 with Rev. Ann Schlossnagle officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD 21117.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
