Gordon L (Mike) Anderson Sr, 89, of Hampstead MD passed away peacefully on February 9, 2016.
Born June 6, 1926 in Baltimore, MD, he was the loving husband for 68 years of Evelyn A (Kraft) Anderson of Hampstead, as well as a loving father to Gordon L Anderson, Jr. of Berlin, Cheryl L. Anderson of Timonium , and the late Michael R Anderson,. He was the the loving PopPop to Kiersten C Riffert of Crofton.

Known as Mike to his co-workers, he was a long-time Baltimore City Fireman (33 years) before retiring to Carroll County. An avid hockey fan, he was active for many years with the pee-wee and youth hockey leagues in Baltimore. He had been a member of the Chesapeake Chorus, sang in a Barbershop quartet, loved Dixieland music, Pete Fountain, and the Statler Brothers. He was a Civil War buff, with an extensive collection of Civil War history books and letters. He had a great love for Myrtle Beach and spent many summers there, and was a white water rafting enthusiast.

His family will receive friends Monday, 2/15/16 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town USA (www.boystown.org ) or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
