Richard Grier "Dick"  DuRant
Richard G. DuRant, 73, of Fredericksburg, VA, passed away on June 16, 2016 at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born June 9, 1943 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Grier and Roberta (VanEpps) DuRant of Falls Church, VA.

After High School, Dick spent a year in Seminary
He was a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's College, where he received a B.S. Degree in English and a Minor in History. Dick taught at Woodlawn High School as an English and Social Studies teacher. After teaching 5 years, Dick went on to work with the DEA as a special agent for 33 years.
He was an avid reader, and loved the water, especially spending time at his lake house. His family remembers him as a great story teller and jokester. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is predeceased by his wife Helena DuRant; son, David DuRant, and brother, Tom DuRant.

Surviving are his son, Richard DuRant and wife Liz of Gettysburg, PA; daughter, Susan Taylor and husband Jason of Hampstead, MD; six granddaughters: Erika DuRant, Serena DuRant, Amber DuRant, Dayle Stocksdale, Cierra Boyle, Carly Boyle; five grandsons: Dylan DuRant, Dawson DuRant, Michael Darr, Jackson Boyle, Harrison Boyle; great-grandson, Colton Stocksdale; sister, Ruth Valley; brother, Ken DuRant; .
