Obituary for Helen Frances Utz

Helen Frances Utz, 85, of Hampstead, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the Dove House in Westminster.

Born October 14, 1930 in Upperco, MD, she was the daughter of the late Louis Russell and Adelaide LaMotte Zepp. She was the wife of the late Maynard L. Utz, who died in 1991.

She had volunteered at Carroll Hospital Center in the emergency room and was a lifetime member of the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary. She knitted baby hats for the hospital's newborns. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arcadia.

Surviving are son, Steven G. Utz and his wife Barbara of Upperco; daughter, Bonnie M. Welk of Hampstead; grandson, Randy Barbe and his girlfriend Marie Schwartz of Hampstead; granddaughters, Lori Barbe and her husband Barry Bowen of Fort Myers, FL, Jennifer Utz Brown and her husband David of Reisterstown and Sara Utz Singer and her husband Shawn of Parkville; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Paige, Amelia, Natalie, Lila and Jack.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
