Jerome T. Schmidt, 81, of Westminster, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester. Born January 29, 1935 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Susie (Johnson) Schmidt. He was the husband of Mary Schmidt who died November 17, 2013.

He was a ham radio operator and a Long View Nursing Home volunteer.

Surviving are sons, Jeffrey Schmidt and wife Becky, of Westminster and Michael Schmidt of York, PA; granddaughters, Tanya Schmidt, Stacy Schmidt; great-grandson, Adrian Mercer and a sister, Pat. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8, 2016, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street Hampstead, with services at 6:00 pm at the Eline Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
