Obituary for Theodore Charles "Ted" Christensen Sr.

Theodore Charles "Ted"  Christensen Sr.
Theodore Charles “Ted” Christensen, Sr., 79 of Reisterstown, MD, passed away on the evening of August 5, 2016. Born March 31, 1937 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Sven and Mary Christensen and the husband of Jo-Anne Christensen.

Ted was a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and earned and Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at Loyola University. He worked as a rehabilitation specialist for 40 years at the Maryland Department of Education. A loving husband and fiercely dedicated father and grandfather, Ted also volunteered weekly at the Sacred Heart Church, tuned into nearly every inning of Orioles baseball, and played poker twice a month with the same circle of men for more than half his life.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo-Anne; daughter Colleen; son Ted Jr.; and seven grandchildren: Brian Novotny, Meghan Novotny, Dan Novotny, Mary-Beth Novotny, Theodore “Charlie” Christensen III, Joseph Christensen, and George Christensen.

A memorial mass will be held at the Sacred Heart “Little Church” on Thursday, August 11 at 10am. Having served in the Army in the late 1950’s, Ted’s interment service will be held at Garrison Forest Veteran’s Cemetery later that same day.
