Charles "Gene" Eugene Myers, 84, of Westminster, MD passed away on September 18, 2016 at the Brookdale Assisted Living Facility in Westminster, MD. Born December 30, 1931 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Paul and Mildred Myers and the husband of Joan Ford Myers.

Gene served his country honorably in the US Navy. He was a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service for 39 years until his retirement. He was a avid sportsman, playing basketball and softball. Even with his demanding job at the Post Office, he found time to coach his children's basketball and baseball teams. Gene was first and foremost a Baltimore Orioles fan and also followed the "Baltimore Colts" and Ravens. His family remembers him as a very kind and gentle man, who never had a harsh word for anyone. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, he is survived by his son, Ed Myers and companion Dorothy Hastings of Severn, MD; three daughters: Suzanne Myers Kane and husband Michael of Finksburg, MD, Patty Wall and companion Eric White of Finksburg, MD, Beth Mensch and husband Leon of Kasilof, AK; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm & 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
