Obituary for James Emera "Jim" Newton

James Emera Newton, 70, of Hampstead, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.. Born April 8, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late George and Myrtle (Kraft) Newton, and beloved husband of Patricia Newton.

Jim served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of Company D, 84 Engineer Battalion. After returning from Vietnam Jim worked in home construction until he retired. Jim had a talent for music and played both guitar and harmonica. In his spare time he enjoyed building models, collecting model trains and going to the shooting range with his sons.. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his beloved wife (together 40 years), Jim is survived by two sons: Scott Newton, Sean Lewis; daughter, Patricia Schumacher; two brothers: Bob Newton, Wayne Newton; two sisters: Jean Costin, Sue Ravera, and three grandchildren.

He is predeceased by both his parents and sister, Nancy Bennett.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 20, 2016, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm & 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St, Hampstead, MD. A service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
