Ronald W. Abbott, Sr., 72, of Finksburg, MD passed away on January 13, 2017 at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born November 3, 1944 in Westminster, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Mary Catherine (Haines) Abbott and the devoted husband of Laura (Frick) Abbott.

Ronald worked at Keystone Machine Corporation in Littlestown, PA for 20 years and 24 years at Black & Decker as a machine operator and quality control. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his farm. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his two daughters: Sherry Adkins and husband Ray of Hampstead, MD, Donna Schatz and husband Daniel, Jr. of Taneytown, MD; son, Ronald Abbott, Jr. and wife Fonda of Hampstead, MD; sister, Linda Ridgely of Hampstead, MD; four brothers: Wayne Abbott and wife Melanie of Westminster, MD, Terry Abbott and wife Laurel of Finksburg, MD, Mark Abbott of Sykesville, MD, Ricky Abbott and wife Amy of Reisterstown, MD; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2017, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Monroe officiating.
