Peggy Banks Stone, 89, of Hampstead, MD, passed away on April 3, 2017, at her home. Born January 24, 1928, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Orpah (Phillips) Banks and the devoted wife of the late Albert Stone.
Peggy was a passionate and devoted Carroll County Public Schools teacher of students with special needs. She held multiple Master’s Degrees in Education and was a former member of The Orton Society. She was an active member and past Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star, Lebanon Chapter #108, Manchester, MD. Peggy was also a member of The Order of Amaranth and a faithful member of Westminster United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her two sons: Scott Stone and wife Theresa of Hampstead, MD, Stuart Stone and wife Patty of Leonardtown, MD; two daughters: Peggy Simpson and husband Bob of Manchester, MD, Sherri Blackiston and husband Doug of Hampstead, MD; sister, Betteann Price of Fairfield, CA; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with an Order of the Eastern Star Service being offered at 7:30 pm, at Eline Funeral Home - 934 South Main St, Hampstead, MD. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at which time a Memorial Service will be held. Interment will be private.
