Margaret Elizabeth McCarthy, 74, of Boring, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born July 4, 1942 in Woodlawn, she was the daughter of the late James and Frances (Evans) Esworthy. She was the wife of the late Thomas Pierre McCarthy, who died in 2012.

She enjoyed playing bingo in Boring and working in her flower gardens.

Surviving are her daughter, Donna L. Rill and husband Alan of Upperco; son, Thomas J. McCarthy and wife Emily of Freeland, MD; granddaughters, Aubrey Rill of Boring, MD, and Holly McCarthy of Freeland, MD; grandson, Alan Rill, Jr. of Boring, MD; brothers, Lee Esworthy and George Esworthy, both of Westminster and James Esworthy, Jr. of Dallastown, PA; sister, Brenda Hale of Jefferson, PA.

She was predeceased by a sister Mary Schmidt.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20, 2017, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
