Obituary for D. Wayne Gailey Sr.

D. Wayne  Gailey Sr.
D. Wayne Gailey Sr, 78, of Hampstead, MD passed away on April 19, 2017 at the Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born May 17, 1938 in Garrison, MD, he was the son of the late John and Dorothy (Williams) Gailey and the devoted husband of 57 years of Joan (Stanton) Gailey.
Wayne was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing for 64 years. He won multiple Club Championships. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Wayne enjoyed old cars, motorcycles and taking care of his beautiful lawn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jackie Fritz and brother, Tim Gailey.
Surviving, in addition to his beloved wife Joan Gailey, are son, David W. Gailey, Jr. and wife Stacey of Manchester, MD; two daughters: Jennifer Lunceford and husband Daniel of Millers, MD, Kim Stanley of Hampstead, MD; three granddaughters, Ali Palmer, Elsa Lunceford, Kaylin Gailey; six grandsons, Trey Gailey, Cody Lunceford, Myles Stanley, Rex Stanley, Levi Stanley, Caleb Stanley; two great-grandsons: Vance Mech, Braxton Gailey; great-granddaughter, Citizen Mech; three brothers: Richard Gailey, Carol Gailey, Steve Gailey, and sister, Chris Matthews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Eline Funeral Home - 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, Md - followed by a celebration of his life at 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, Inc. - 292 Stoner Ave, Westminster, MD 21157.
