Life Story for John Thomas Lalmond

John Thomas Lalmond
On July 21, John T. Lalmond, 63, peacefully went home to his savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by his loving wife and family. John was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, to the late Harold and Eunice Lalmond.

John was educated in Nashua Catholic schools and graduated as the valedictorian of the class of 1971 from Bishop Guertin High School. He then attended Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry.

John married the love of his life,Virginia (Miller) Lalmond on November 1, 1977 and they shared nearly 40 joyful years of marriage. John was employed in IT for most of his career with W.R. Grace. He considered his friends at "Grace" his second family.

He had a brilliant and naturally inquisitive mind, but was very down-to-earth and approachable.
A truly humble man, John cared more for others than he did for himself. John was well known for his loving and compassionate heart. He loved all of God’s creatures, great and small. He had a fondness and special place in his heart for some of the smallest and most vulnerable of God’s creatures, cats. He and his wife, Ginger, rescued many cats over the years. His loving concern and care for stray cats as well as his own pet rescue cats, earned him the affectionate nickname, “Cat Man.”

He was diagnosed with a dreadfully tragic disease, ALS nearly two years ago. He bore his suffering with patience and acceptance, never complaining. Rather, he submitted to the plan of His Maker and put his trust and faith in God.

He leaves behind his precious family, who meant everything to him. His beautiful and loving wife, Ginger Lalmond, a step son, Phillip Miller and wife Michelle and their daughter Danielle.

John was the eldest of six children in a very close-knit family. His beloved family members include his brothers, Timothy Lalmond, H. Jeffrey Lalmond and wife, Pamela, Joseph Lalmond and wife, Paula, and sisters, Mary- Lee Donoghue and husband, Joseph, and Judith Chartier and husband, Stephen. John is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews, Richard Sullivan; Christopher Lalmond and wife, Alexandria; Brianna Lalmond and fiancé, Matthew Shea; Emily and Bridget Lalmond; Jeffrey, Jennifer and Justine Lalmond; Thomas, Catherine, and John Donoghue; Nathan and wife Adrienne Chartier and their daughters, Grace and Faith; Jeremy and wife, Marika Chartier; and Amanda Chartier. John is also survived by one uncle, Richard Lalmond, many dear cousins, and his beloved family of cherished cats, affectionately known as “the Boys.”
