Edward Richard Colbert, 81, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at University of Maryland Hospital . Born August 19, 1936 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Edward R. and Hazel Colbert. He was the beloved husband of Elinor R. Colbert, his wife of 52 years.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and had been a market manager for the Baltimore Sun prior to his retirement. He retired from Manchester Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Glen Burnie; VFW Post 10067; American Legion Post 187; and was formerly on the town council for Manchester. He also ran the bingo for Manchester Fire Department.

Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Kimberly Naylor and husband Albert of Middle River and Kelly Braitsch and husband John of Manchester; sisters, Cindy Wilford and husband Peter of Hudson, NH, Karen Kay of Keene, NH; grandson, Gerald Bloom and girlfriend Keilee Alban. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson James Bloom.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Millers United Methodist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Manchester Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 416, Manchester, MD. 21102.
