James Gary Owings, 72, of Reisterstown, passed away on September 11, 2017. Born July 13, 1945 in Reisterstown, MD, he was the son of the late Maurice and Jessie Owings.

Gary married Dorothy Owings (Malcolm) on September 12, 1970 at Glyndon United Methodist Church. They were lovingly and happily married for 47 years.

Gary’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, having a good laugh, throwing a great party, traveling, playing cards, and living every minute to the fullest with his grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents and brother, David L. Owings.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Owings; daughter Kirsten Owings-Caine and husband William Caine of Hampstead, MD; son James Stephen Owings and wife Nicole Owings of Hereford, MD; grandchildren Ashley Caine, Zoe Caine, Owen Caine, Tyler Owings and Kayla Owings; brother Jack Owings and wife Carole Owings; sister Melinda Setren; sister-in-law Linda Owings.
