Obituary for John Kristian Jr.

John Kristian, Jr. 75, of Hampstead, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 30, 1942 in Hazelton, PA, he was the son of Margaret (Levack) Harrison of Parkville and the late John Kristian, Sr. He was the beloved husband of Dale M. (Jones) Kristian, his wife of 53 years.

He was a 1961 graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. John was a USMC veteran and was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, American Legion Post 200 and the North Carroll Senior Center. He had worked at Bethlehem Steel, and was a retired carpenter with the State of Maryland. John enjoyed antiques, birds, home projects, cars, rock & roll music, playing pool and going to casinos with friends from the Senior Center, Old Western television shows, car shows, history, suspense movies, current events, grandchildren's sports and his golden retriever, Harry.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is daughter, Kathleen Bailey of Westminster and son, Michael Kristian and wife Diona of Eldersburg. He was the beloved PopPop of Kaitlyn & Kristina Bailey, Andrew, Alexander, Abigail & Alyssa Kristian.

The family will receive friends onTuesday, September 26, 2017, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Msgr. James McGovern officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
