Viola Belle Shaffer, 93, of Manchester, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017. Born August 27, 1924 in Harford County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Cleveland Kinhart and Dora Jane Crowl Kinhart. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard L. Shaffer, Sr.

She had worked at Black & Decker prior to retirement. She was a member of St. David's (Shermans) United Church of Christ.

Surviving is daughter, Ruth Jane Shaffer and son, Leonard L. Shaffer, Jr. of Manchester, grandson Donald Leroy Shaffer, granddaughter LaTisha Adele High and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also surviving are in-laws Gary Bullock, Margaret Morelock, Paul and Mary Shaffer.

She was predeceased by siblings and their spouses, Helen & Albert Bender, Stanley & Carolyn Kinhart, Lynn & Pauline Kinhart, Katherine & Hervey Brown, Ida Mae & Francis Duffy, Diorthe & Donald Rosier and David & Ann Kinhart.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, MD. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Sager officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery, 4135 Norrisville Road, White Hall, MD.
