Cheslie Hedrick "Ches" Hinegardner, Jr., 89, of Hampstead died Sunday October 29, 2017 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mt. Airy.

Born November 30, 1927 in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Rev. Cheslie Hedrick Hinegardner, Sr. and Thelma Sausaman Hinegardner. He was the husband of the late Ethel Hollins Hinegardner, who died in 2012.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the navy. Prior to retirement, he had worked for Black & Decker in Hampstead.

He was a charter member of Hampstead Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International.
Surviving are his son, Cheslie Hedrick "Rick" Hinegardner, III and daughter, Patricia Gail Hinegardner, both of Hampstead. He was predeceased by brothers, Leslie Jean and Wesley John Hinegardner.

The family will receive friends on Thursday November 2, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. His pastor, the Rev. Chris Brammer, will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
