Life Story for Irene Caroline Kouba

Irene Caroline Kouba, 90, of Owings Mills, MD formerly of South Hackensack, New Jersey passed away on November 10, 2017. She was born on May 7, 1927 in Little Ferry, NJ to the late Frank M. and Mary (nee Holley) Remes.

Irene graduated from Lodi High School in Lodi, NJ in 1945. She enjoyed going to the casino, crocheting, playing card games, cross stitching, ice skating and bowling. In 1985 she donated a kidney to her daughter Barbara at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She had worked as a bookkeeper.

She is survived by son Carl Kouba of Toms River, NJ; son Gregory Kouba and Diane Amico of Vineland, NJ; daughter Barbara Roman and her husband Ray of Reisterstown, MD; daughter Mary Tolme and her husband Philippe of Littleton, CO; sister Joan Lawrence of Red Bank, NJ; sister Marilyn Terry of Harrisville, NH and Lake Worth, FL; grandchildren Samantha Roman (Jesse Fox), Marissa Blackburn (Kevin), Scott Roman, Elizabeth Miller (Justin), Philippe Tolme (Randi), Megan Decker (Adam), Ken Kouba, Victoria Rudderow (Eric), Natalie Burke, Chris Kouba and 3 great grandchildren Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Vera Remes, Frank Remes, Dorothy Sawyer and Edith Nepil.

Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD on Monday, November 13, 2017 3-5 & 7-9pm. Service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10am at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
