Anna Margaret Shanks, 93, of The Brethren Home Community passed away on January 15, 2018. Born November 26, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Wiessner. After John’s untimely death, her step-father, J. Cyran and mother, Anna lovingly raised the family.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Shanks who passed away in 1990.
She is survived by three sons: Ken Shanks and wife Catherine of Catonsville, MD, Roy Shanks and Suzanne Perry of York, PA, David Shanks and wife Anna of Seminole, FL; and numerous grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 10:00am to 11:00am; followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at the Eline Funeral Home – 934 South Main St, Hampstead, MD. Burial will be held at Manchester Baptist Church Cemetery (formerly known as Shanks Cemetery).
