Obituary for Robert Gorsuch Murray

Robert Gorsuch  Murray
Robert Gorsuch Murray, 101, of Hampstead, MD passed away on March 4, 2018 at the Long View Health Care Center in Manchester, MD. Born February 24, 1917 in Hampstead, MD, he was the son of the late Vernon and Mary Murray and the devoted husband of Martha B. Murray.

He was a graduate of Hampstead High School. After graduation he worked at Hyson's Meat Market. During the war years he worked for Davidson Chemical Company of Maryland making products for our national defense. Robert later worked for Nevamar Kitchens and then Stylewood Cabinet & Kitchen Designs, designing and building kitchens all along the East Coast from New York to Florida. He was a member of the Hampstead Rotary Club, Piney Branch Golf Club, Hampstead Hunt Club and Green Spring Valley Country Club. Robert enjoyed playing golf and had a great passion for horses. He attributed his longevity to being content with life and loving others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Martha B. Murray; two daughters: Bonnie Cornell and husband Patrick, Robin Trueblood; two sons: Robert G. Murray, II and wife Robin, Richard Keith Murray and wife Lynn; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 11:00 am at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1375 N. Main Street, Hampstead, MD with Pastor Andy Carr officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
