Life Story for Charles B. Williams

Charles B. Williams
Charles “Charlie” B. Williams ( 92 ), of Westminster Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2018, at Carroll Lutheran Village after suffering a stroke in January. While Mr. Williams lived most of his life in Maryland, he was born on February 10, 1926, in Asheville, North Carolina and always considered the Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville to be his home. He was a devoted husband of 69 years to his wife, the late Florence Williams, who preceded him in death in 2016. He was undeniably a committed and loving father to his three children and is survived by his daughters Thea Williams and Deborah Williams and daughter-in-law, Libby Williams. He was predeceased by his son, Douglas Williams.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and traveled throughout Europe. In his civilian life, he was a welder for the York Division of Borg-Warner. He was artistic and innovative and loved to create custom stained glass pieces for those he loved. He enjoyed music and could play piano and guitar by ear. His favorite pastime in recent years was watching Western movies with his neighbor and best friend, John Huber. Charlie loved life and always found a way to touch others with his charm and sense of humor.

The family of Charles Williams would like to thank all of those individuals who provided caring support over the past several weeks including friends, neighbors, coworkers and the caring staff at Carroll Lutheran Village.

Friends may call at Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Road (at Franklin Blvd.) on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Interment Private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
