He is survived by his wife, Claudia Ann (Graves) McGee, to whom he was married for 62 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Deb and husband Mike Huffman, Sue and husband Bryan Benson, Jim and wife Sherri, and Becky and husband David Henry; eight grandchildren: Cory (Huffman) Dolly, Chris Huffman, Emily Benson, Grace Benson, Matt McGee, Samantha Henry, Sydney Henry, and Aidan Henry; five great grandchildren: Rachel Payne Huffman, Ben Huffman, Chloe Huffman, Noah Huffman, and Nathan Huffman; one great-great grandchild: Karsyn Thomas; and two brothers: Gene and Joe McGee.

Jesse retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after 21 years of service. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat “V” and the Navy Unit Commendation for his superior performance of duty in Vietnam.
After his military career, Jesse worked for Gould/Telemecanique and finally the Carroll County Public Library Systems. Jesse was an avid reader, so he loved being in the libraries and having quick access to his favorite authors’ latest books.
After he retired, Jesse enjoyed reading, tending his vegetable garden, and puttering with various hobbies and home projects. He loved getting up early every morning and watching the sunrise and the wildlife from his deck. He enjoyed going to Starbucks and Bob Evans for the cappuccinos, the breakfasts, and the friendships. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Eline Funeral Home at 934 South Main St., Hampstead, MD, 21074.
