Condolence From: Richard Bruce
Condolence: "Watertight" loved life and had many good sea stories to tell. As time forced is classmates to drift away, Tom was in my thoughts over the years. Still remember Tom busting the seam of his dress jacket during a meal when he flexed his back. Sailors live long in our tales. Tom will be with us forever. With my love, Richard Bruce, '84 THE COAST GUARD HYMN Eternal Father, Lord of Hosts Watch o'er the ones who guard our coasts Protect them from the raging seas And give them light and life and peace. Grant them from thy great throne above The shield and shelter of thy love. Lord, guard and guide the ones who fly Through the great spaces in the sky Be with them always in the air, In darken storms or sunlight fair, Oh, hear us when we lift our prayer, For those in peril in the air! Grant to them Your eternal peace, Oh Lord, For they have followed your commandment, That No Greater Love has he, who would give up his life for another.

Condolence From: Don Ling
Condolence: Rest in Peace Tom. Tom and I first met at a Christmas party at Mike Skirchak's house in Sacramento (1989). I had the honor of being stationed with Tom three times, twice at Air Station Sacramento and once at Air Station Kodiak. When I retired from the Coast Guard, Tom gave an awesome speech on my behalf. Tom was my best friend, the brother I never had. He was also the Godfather to my daughter Rita. I will truly miss him but I will never forget him. Memories such as; duck hunting in Alaska, JOC night at Mather Air Force Base, midnight bowling at King Salmon Air Force Station, skiing at Lake Tahoe (we at least tried to ski), Tom's one man farewell/roast from Air Station Kodiak, his performances as Mr. Vice at the Dining Out, our skit roasting an unnamed Commanding Officer and of course Tom and Michelle's Blessing and road trip. These are just a few of my memories but they have me smiling ear to ear as I write this. Tom definitely met his match when he met Michelle. Lucky for him, she was also his soulmate. Michelle, you and your children, Heather, Gabby and Josh are in our hearts and prayers. Don and Sherry Ling

Condolence: I flew with Tom while he was in the Coast Guard. He was always a pleasure to fly with as his sense of humor kept the entire crew entertained and his abilities as a pilot were second to none. He treated everyone with respect regardless of their rank and he will be sorely missed. The entire Douglas family is in our prayers, may you rest in peace Tom.

Condolence: May Tom Rest In Peace. I am sure he is already entertaining all the other angels in Heaven. Tom was one of the finest, funniest men we have ever known and he still found a way to marry above his pay grade. Michelle, your and your wonderful family are in our hearts and prayers.
