Dorothy May Wheeler (Neighoff)

Dorothy May Wheeler, 91, of Westminster, MD passed away on October 6, 2018. Born January 8, 1927 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Henrietta (Breitenbach) Neighoff and the devoted wife of the late Jack Wilmer Wheeler.

Dorothy is also preceded in death by her brother, Albert E. Neighoff, Jr. and his wife Shirley, her grandson Michael Shane Wheeler, and her granddaughter Paige Hope Wheeler.

Dorothy is survived by four children, John Wheeler (Donna), Daniel Wheeler, Patrick Wheeler (Robin) and Kathleen Wheeler. She is also survived by her brother, Eugene Neighoff (Beverly) and her sister Barbara Bernard.

Dorothy was the devoted grandmother of Charles Wheeler (Danielle), Tricia Cihlar (Nate), Daniel Wheeler Jr. (Patricia), Nicole Jump (Al), Nicholas Wheeler, Sarah Moore (Tyler), Rebecca Hurd (Billy Jack), Tyler Wheeler, Katie Wheeler, Jacqueline Wheeler, Kandace Tignor, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Known as “MomMom” or Miss Dot to most, she enjoyed spending time with her greatest blessing, her family. She cultivated life long friendships and was loved and admired by everyone she met. She demonstrated a strong faith in God throughout her life, often lifting others up during their time of need. She always said, “My cup runneth over”, a demonstration of her appreciation for life.

She died 91 years “young”, as her spirit never aged. She loved Rhebbs chocolates, the Price is Right, going out for snowballs, and watching her granddaughter with her horses.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 15th, 2:00pm to 4:00pm & 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Road, Finksburg, MD. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 at 9:00 am at Eline Funeral Home. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
