Doris Ann Reed  Miller
Doris Ann Reed Miller, 76, of Hampstead, passed away Sunday October 14, 2018 at Brightview at Westminster Ridge in Westminster.

Born April 27, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter Edward Reed, Sr. and Rhoda Hilda Peregoy Reed.

Doris was a 1960 graduate of North Carroll High School and studied at Strayer Business College. She had worked as a secretary for AT&T prior to her retirement. Following retirement, she worked part time for the Carroll County Board of Education for 22 years. She was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ (Snydersburg), where she was very active with the church women. She enjoyed reading and serving her church.

Surviving are her sister, Jeanne M. Ruby of Hampstead; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter, Jr. and Rose Reed of Hampstead and Ken A. and Norma Reed of Manchester; eight nieces and nephews; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews; 14 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predecesaed by nephews, Kenneth A. Reed, Jr. and David Eugene Ruby and by brother-in-law, David W. Ruby.

The family will receive friends Thursday October 18 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held on Friday October 19at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Church of Snydersburg, 1616 Cape Horn Road, Hampstead, with Pastor Sam Chamelin officiating. Interment will follow in Snydersburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in her name to St. Mark's United Church of Christ, P. O. Box 514, Hampstead, MD 21074 or to Carroll Hospice, Inc., 292 Stoner Avenue Westminster, MD 21157.
