Elizabeth “Beth” Alcorn Jordan, 89, of Hanover, PA (formerly of Hampstead, MD), passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Hanover Hospital. Born February 25, 1928 in Manchester, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edwin G. and Elizabeth (Myers) Alcorn and beloved wife of the late Edward Eugene Jordan. She was predeceased by her sister, Eva Burgoon Owings and brother Rev. Edwin Myers Alcorn.
Beth was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Manchester, MD and prior to her retirement she worked at Black and Decker, where she was the first female supervisor; Brookstone and Mrs. Fields Cookies.
Surviving are her daughters, Christy Jordan Mosebrook and husband John, Hampstead, MD; Charlotte Jordan Harman and husband Ed, Winchester, VA; Kathleen Jordan, Philadelphia, PA and Karen Jordan Price and husband James, Hampstead, MD. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday Sept. 2, 2017 at Homewood Plum Creek Chapel, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA. There will be visitation with family beginning at 11 AM followed by a service at 12 noon. Pastor Joel B. Hummel, Pastor Suzanne A. Schmidt and Pastor LoisAnn Furgess-Oler will be officiating. Inurnment will be private and at a later date.
