Delores Virginia Swift, 88, of Hampstead, passed away on December 13, 2017 at the Long View Nursing Home in Manchester, MD. Born January 29, 1929 in Glen Rock, PA, she was the daughter of the late Wilford and Mary (Cape) Bailey and the devoted wife of the late Raymond Kenneth Swift.

Delores is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Mildred Jones and Catherine Spera.

Delores was a life-long member and former Sunday School Teacher at Poplar Grove UMC. She was an accomplished seamstress, good cook, enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader of romance novels. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her son, Robert Swift & wife Shirley of Hampstead, MD; daughter, Debra Hammer & husband Randolph of San Antonio, TX; son, Richard Swift & wife Tammy of Fairbanks, AK; four grandchildren: Karen Brooks, Jessica Swift, Timothy Hammer, Keith Swift; four step-grandchildren: Michelle, Paula, Carrie, Rich; seven great-grandchildren: Courtney & Bridget Brooks, Zach , Austin, & Nicholas Speros, Cole & Ryan Hammer.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017, 11:00 am at the Poplar Grove U.M. Church - 13600 Poplar Hill Road, Phoenix MD. Interment will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Diabetes Association or The American Heart Association
