Obituary for Wilbur L. Williams

Wilbur L.  Williams
Wilbur L. Williams, 92, of Finksburg, MD passed away on December 18, 2017 at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born September 23, 1925 in Reisterstown, MD, he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Foutz) Williams and the devoted husband of the late Ethel M. Williams.

Wilbur served his country honorably in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and received both the Purple Heart , POW Medal and Air Medal. He was a member of the American Legion, Roaring Run Lions Club, ARC, 4-H, Maryland Simmental Association, and Piney Branch Golf Club. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, raising beef cattle, coaching his children’s Baseball & Softball Teams and was an avid Orioles Fan. He was especially close to his grandchildren and supported them in all their endeavors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Ethel Williams, brother, Harry Williams, two sisters: Dorothy Finch and Viola Evans.

Surviving are his daughter, Sandra Magee and partner, George Whitcomb of Myrtle Beach, SC; Son, Scott (Valerie) Williams of York, PA; son-in-law, Steve Magee; three sisters: Frances (Monte) Hatcher, June (Paul) McCoy, Shirley (Nicholas) Halanych; brother, Robert Williams; grandson, Sean Magee and girlfriend Taylor Long; and granddaughter, Samantha Magee.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 2901 Bloom Rd, Finksburg, MD. A service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 8:30 am at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Art Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery.
