Obituary for Vada Virginia Merryman (Brooks)

Vada Virginia  Merryman (Brooks)
Vada Virginia Brooks Merryman, 95, of Upperco, passed away Sunday April 8, 2018 at her home.

Born March 1, 1923 in Hampstead, MD, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Norma Leister Brooks. She was the wife of the late Donald Paul Merryman, who died in 2000.

Mrs. Merryman had worked at the Hampstead Post Office, as a bookkeeper for Wheeler Chevrolet, as house mother for The McDonough School, where her husband taught, and following the birth of her children as a homemaker. She was a member of Home Makers and the Seniors Club. She was an active member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hampstead and had sung in choir for many years.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Anita Merryman of Upperco; daughter and son-in-law, Ginny and John Roil of Baltimore; granddaughters, Renee Winebrenner, Jennifer Bailey and Kimberly Roil; grandson, Christopher Roil; great-grandson, Carlton Winebrenner; great-granddaughters, Kyla Adams and Mikaela Delp.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. C. Andrew Carr officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
