Obituary for Lawrence Lester Lang Jr.

Lawrence Lester Lang, 69, of Deal Island, passed away Wednesday May 23, 2018 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born February 1, 1949 in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Lawrence Lester "Skeeter" Lang, Sr. and Jennie Lockman Lang. He was the husband of Dawn A. Lang.

Mr. Lang was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army. He had worked as an automotive mechanic with his father at Lang's Used Auto Parts in Hampstead. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Snydersburg. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He was a former member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Amber DuBrel of Lincoln, Delaware and Ashley Lang of Deal Island; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Thompson of Manchester; step-brother Neal McDaniel and his wife Donna; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Lang.

The family will receive friends Tuesday May 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church of Snydersburg, 1616 Cape Horn Road, Hampstead. His pastor, the Rev. Michael C. Adams will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
