Obituary for William Thomas "Tom" Douglas

William Thomas "Tom" Douglas
William Thomas Douglas, “Tom”, of Reisterstown, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. He was born on December 27, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the husband of Michelle Douglas.

Tom was a 1984 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy. He served on icebreakers, before becoming a C130 pilot, with the United States Coast Guard. After retiring from the USCG in 2004, he became a pilot with Southwest Airlines.

His hobbies included spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing (which he was terrible at), enjoying his cowboy cauldron and barbecuing, riding Harleys in fine weather and studying the Bible.
In addition to his wife Michelle, Tom is survived by his children Heather, Gabrielle and Joshua Douglas; brothers Skip, Pat and Marshall; sister Robin and mother Dee Douglas.

Friends are invited to call at Eline Funeral Home 2901 Bloom Rd & Route 91 Finksburg on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 2 to 3pm, at which time a memorial service will be held. Friends are invited to the house after the service for beer and barbecue. That’s what Tom would have wanted.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the United States Coast Guard Academy www.cgaalumni.org, www. Caringbridge.org or the Baltimore Saints Baltimore Area Special Hockey, Inc., www.leaguelineup.com , where Tom spent some of his favorite times.
