Nicholas F.  Adams III
Nicholas F. Adams III passed away on his 79th birthday, July 4, 2018, at his home in Vero Beach, Florida. Nicholas was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 4, 1939, the son of Margaret Roberts Adams and Dr. Nicholas F. Adams, Jr.

He ​graduated from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1966 and ​was a Vice President of Institutional Sales at Merrill Lynch for 20 years. Following his time at Merrill Lynch, Nicholas founded Adams Investment Counsel, a boutique equity research firm. Prior to his retirement, Nicholas also worked as an investment advisor at Chapin Davis, Inc.

Nicholas was a member of the Elkridge Club in Baltimore, Maryland, and was a member of the Vero Beach Country Club and Vero Beach Yacht Club in Vero Beach, Florida. His time in Vero Beach prompted his avid support of the Indian River Land Trust as well as the Riverside Theatre.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas F. Adams IV, his daughter-in-law, Wendy Carolina Adams, and their children, Madison Quinn Adams and Harlow Cynthia Adams. Nicholas is also survived by his daughter, Marian Hilles Adams, his daughter Elizabeth Adams Williams and her husband, Robert J. Williams, his sister, Bardelle Adams Offutt​,​ and his ​​nephews and niece, James Perry Offutt, Jr., William Montgomery Offutt, and Laura Bardelle Offutt​. He will be immensely missed by ​his family and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Church, 232 St. Thomas Lane in Owings Mills, MD 21117. His burial will immediately follow the service at Druid Ridge Cemetery which is located at 7900 Park Heights Avenue, Pikesville, MD 21208. Any flowers should be sent directly to St. Thomas Church.
