Obituary for Dorothy S. Bond (Sauble)

Dorothy S. Bond (Sauble)
On December 3, 2018, Dorothy Sauble Bond passed away peacefully with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Katharine Sauble, as well as her sister, Suzanne Sauble. Dorothy leaves behind her devoted husband of 67 years, Robert Nail Bond, Sr.; children Cynthia B. Hayes, Robert N. Bond, Jr. (Ardis), Melinda B. Ecolono, and Mark B. Bond (Connie); grandchildren Katharine Hayes, Emily Grayson (William), Addison Bond (Kristina), Shaffer Bond, Lindsey Moneymaker (Christopher), Taylor Ecolono, and Austin Bond; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews and one great-grandchild on the way.

Dorothy was born in Reisterstown, Maryland in 1929, where she spent the first nine years of her life before her family moved to Ohio, where Dorothy graduated from Hudson High School in 1946. The Saubles then moved to Florida, where Dorothy attended the University of Miami to follow her dream of being a teacher. Following her graduation in 1950 with a degree in elementary education, Dorothy taught in the Miami area before marrying Robert in June 1951 and returning to Reisterstown, where she continued teaching.

It was in Reisterstown that Dorothy and Robert built their life together and became active members of the community. Dorothy was a member of the Reisterstown United Methodist Church Choir for more than 60 years. She was also a member of the Candlelighters, a community singing group, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

Dorothy’s unconditional love for Robert and their family knew no bounds. Throughout her life, she delighted in the accomplishments of her husband, children, and grandchildren, who were fortunate to have her as their greatest supporter.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 11th from 3pm to 6pm at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
