The Saubles then moved to Florida, where Dorothy attended the University of Miami to follow her dream of being a teacher. Following her graduation in 1950 with a degree in elementary education, Dorothy taught in the Miami area before marrying Robert in June 1951 and returning to Reisterstown, where she continued teaching.
