Dorothy Evelyn  Monczynski
Dorothy Evelyn Monczynski, 93, died on December 17, 2018, at home following a month-long illness.

Ms. Monczynski was born October 8, 1925 in Buffalo, New York to John and Rose Monczynski. She was a 1943 graduate of Clarence High School, in Clarence, New York. In 1946 she graduated from Bethany College, in Bethany, West Virginia with a degree in mathematics. She had been employed for more than 41 years by Sears, Roebuck and Company in their credit, accounting and audit departments. Ms. Monczynski moved from Buffalo to Annapolis, Maryland in 1976. In 1979 retired after a long successful career. In 2009 she moved to Westminster, Maryland where she became an active and enthusiastic member of the YMCA community. In late 2015 she returned to Annapolis and became an active member of the YMCA in Arnold.

She is survived by her niece and nephew-in-law, Barbara and Douglas Kearney of Annapolis with whom she had lived for the past nine years. She is also survived beloved cousin Theresa Wendzikowski of Buffalo, New York, dear friends Stacie Jones and Kimberly Arsenault of Westminster, and numerous second cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Bernice M. Lilly and her nephew, Richard G. Lilly, III as well as by cousins Sister Marcella Anne Wendzikowski and Rev. Msgr. Mecislaus S. Wendzikowski of Buffalo, NY.

There will be a celebration of her life on February 3, 2019 at The Hill YMCA in Westminster, 1719 Sykesville Road, Westminster, Maryland 21157 beginning at 1:00 pm. A funeral mass will be conducted in the future at St. Aloysius Church in Cheektowaga, New York followed by interment at St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, in Holland, New York in the spring.
