Obituary for Jay Michael Perkins

Jay Michael Perkins
Jay Michael Perkins, 56, of Westminster, MD, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019. Born July 16th 1962 in Lanham Md., he is survived by his father, Lionel Perkins, of Lanham, Md., son, Nicholas Perkins, of Baltimore City, Md., step-daughter, Melissa Pleas’ant, of Parkville, Md., brother, Karl Perkins, former spouse, Tammy Perkins, of Pikesville, Md., and numerous relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his Mother, Sylvia Perkins, of Lanham, Md., and brother, Kevin Perkins. Jay graduated in 1980 from Duval High School in Lanham, Md.

Jay was always on the move and enjoyed many different adventures with friends over his lifetime. These adventures included skiing at Lake Tahoe, Killington, Vt., Colorado, Germany and Austria, exercising, dancing, and attending newly released movies, the Amish market, along with beer and wings watching football! He also enjoyed traveling the east coast enforcing the illegal sale of bootleg concert shirts and free music! He also had a passion for his 1965 Mustang and his Camaro/Z28.

Jay was a dedicated employee regardless of where he was employed and would work up to 3 or 4 jobs at any given time. Past employers include Marshall’s, Nabisco/Kraft, The JCC, Blockbuster, Nutterz, and Food Lion/Weis, and security at Capital Center from 1981 until it was demo’d some years later.

His code name “IMO2V8” used from his license plate to his email address is a testimony of his character. Jay was a very humble, kind, and proud guy of whom was more than willing to help a friend in need at any given time. With his stylish coordinated ensemble, carefree personality, contagious smile, and laugh, he would brighten any room when he walked in. If you were lucky enough to know this man, he impacted each and every life he touched.

The Family and Friends wish to thank everybody who helped, for their support and endless love throughout this difficult and sad time. Jay was very appreciative for all that you have done for him in his time of need. Jay would want everyone to continue his legacy of being the best that you can be and strive for kindness and happiness!

We will miss you, Jay-mon, Jay-dog, Jaye and Dad!
