Life Story for Charles Robert "Bob" Morrison

Charles Robert "Bob" Morrison, 90, of Upperco, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD.

Born April 7, 1929 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Bruce and Ethel Scheidt Morrison. He was the husband of Betty J. Prota Morrison.

Mr. Morrison served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He earned a bachelor's degree in transportation from the University of Maryland, College Park and his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, Baltimore. He was the Manager of Traffic and Transportation for Koppers Company, Inc. from 1968 to 1986. He was a staff assistant to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means, Subcommittee on Trade from 1979 to 1980. He was an associate with Drescher, Davison, Franges & Associates, Inc. from 1986 until his retirement. He had also served as Chairman of the Maryland Transportation Commission and as Commissioner of the Maryland State Road Commission. He had been a member of the Greater Baltimore Committee, the Maryland State Chamber of Commerce and the Governor's Special Committee on Transit Operating Costs. Following retirement, he found part time employment with the Graystone Golf Club in White Hall, which he greatly enjoyed.

He enjoyed astronomy, golf, reading and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Jennifer Carle and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Carle of Towson, MD; and grandsons, Alexander and Timothy Carle.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Maryland SPCA, 3300 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21211.
