Obituary for David Craig "Dave" Fitz

David Craig Fitz, 66, of Hampstead, MD passed away on April 26, 2019 at the Dove House Hospice in Westminster, MD. Born May 24, 1952 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the devoted husband of Helen (McMillion) Fitz and the son of the late Barry and Jean (Powell) Fitz

Dave was an adoring father who loved spoiling his three daughters. He had a love for dogs, especially pugs. He enjoyed a variety of music and as a young man, played bass and sang in a country band, Stonehaven Road. He was a banker for forty years and in retirement, opened Pug's Head Vapory in Manchester, Maryland. He was fiercely intelligent, loved to debate politics and was a master at trivia. His family fondly remembers his sense of humor and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dave is preceded in death by his mother and father; sister, Kerry Drennan; in-laws, George and Donna McMillion and Butters, his beloved pug.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Helen (McMillion) Fitz; three daughters: Melanie Fitz of Owings Mills, MD; Susannah Fitz of Hampstead, MD; Joy (Fitz) Hurley and husband Kevin, of Owings Mills, MD; two nieces: Courtney Drennan of Raleigh, NC; Erin Drennan of Allentown, NJ, numerous cousins and extended family and his dog, Alfredo Fitz.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD. A memorial will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 1:00 pm at Eline Funeral Home, with Minister Jim Hurley officiating.
