Life Story for Michele Frances Russell (Munley)

Michele F. Russell, 69, was peacefully welcomed into the Lord’s arms in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Though she had long suffered from the physical effects of Corticobasal Degeneration, her positive spirit and joyful sense of humor remained unbroken. Her contagious love of life will remain in the hearts of the tremendous number of friends and family she touched throughout her life.

Michele was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1950. She was the third of six children born to Michael and Jacqueline Munley. Michele married her high school sweetheart, Jim Russell, in 1972. Over the next 47 years, Jim and Michele wrote a love story that would become their legacy. Together, they welcomed three daughters and later became grandparents to the seven children Michele adoringly called her “Magnificent Seven.” Michele’s grandchildren were truly her pride and joy. Jim and Michele’s countless friends will attest to the fact that this special couple didn’t just make friends, they made family. Michele was truly in her element when hosting friends and family for holidays, family dinners, pool parties or Ravens football viewing parties in the family’s basement – fondly referred to as “The Russell Tavern.”

In addition to her beloved Jim, Michele is survived by her adored daughters and sons-in-love, Shannon and Kevin Clements, Bridget and Jason Myrick, and Meghann and Nicholas Ervin, precious grandchildren Ella Catherine, Braeden James, Abigail Elizabeth, Erin Michele, Connor John, William Clarke, and Lucille Mae, her loving mother, Jacqueline Fields, devoted siblings Jackie and Chuck Troutman, Ellen Munley, Peggy and Ben Keesey, and Andy and Beth Munley. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Catherine Russell, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael, and brother, Kevin Munley.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 3:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm at Eline Funeral Home (11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, MD 21136). A memorial celebration of life will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 1:00pm, also at Eline. Reception to follow at the family home.

Memorial donations can be made in Michele’s name to CurePSP. Donations can be made online via the “Donate” link at www.psp.org.
