Condolence From: Charles Wilson
Condolence: Cindy, Bob, Mindy, and Mark, I was shocked to learn of your Dad’s passing recently, not long after your Mom. From the days when you lived across from me on Chatsworth Avenue and I used to babysit you, I have had the highest regard for your parents! They were always very good models for me! Back in the late 60’s, I worked closely with your Dad in helping to make “Bob’s Mansion” a reality:: I helped clear the land. Then we went around to a lot of old mansions being demolished in the Baltimore area, where Bob would bid on light fixtures, paneling, fire places, staircases, etc. When a deal was reached, we then used crowbars, etc. to rip the purchase out and tie it down on top of your old station wagon:-). I remember that the longest piece of the staircase panelling was so long, we could barely see to drive! When the house was built, I painted all of those little window pains, in the winter wear gloves without fingers — brrr.

I always looked forward to visiting Bob & Dot on my trips home from California. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to ever catch any of you there at the time:-(. It would have been good to see you and catch up on all you’’ve done over the past 50 years when I last saw you. I last saw your Dad in December, when we had lunch together with my Mom at Carroll Lutheren Village. He seemed in good health and I was amazed that he was still working!

I will dearly miss them! You have my deepest sympathies. Best of wishes to all of you in the future!!!!

Condolence From: Town of Sykesville
Condolence: All of us in the Town of Sykesville were deeply saddened at the loss of Robert Bond "Our" Town Engineer. While he may have been employed by Wilson T Ballard, we considered him one of us. Since 1972 he worked for the Town and saw that things were done correctly and to his rigorous specifications. He knew where every piece of infrastructure was and his breadth of knowledge was amazing. In losing Bob, not only did we lose a lot of institutional knowledge, but a great friend and trusted adviser. He was an honest, smart, humble and strong man and will be dearly missed by all who knew him and had the pleasure to work with him. God must have been in need of the best of the best engineer's. God speed Bob from all of us in the Town of Sykesville your peaceful rest was well earned, Ian Shaw
