I only met Master Chirhart 5 years ago at my first Pennsic. I remember him as a kind soul overflowing with knowledge that he loved to share with any and all. He was patient and soft spoken and genuinely concerned with the well being of those around him. The world would be a better place if we had more like him. I will always remember his smile and laugh and his great cooking and guidance.

I met Truman (I will always think of him as Chirhart) in 2011 at my first SCA event. Him and his wife were the first Baron and Baroness that I had the pleasure of getting to know in this hobby and I really enjoyed his company. I had endless conversations with him on the phone, sometimes lasting three hours and we would talk about everything! I will really miss him, and I think heaven has definitely gained a new angel.

I met Chirhart when I was seventeen years old. He and Bec welcomed me into their lives and always treated me like a valued member of their household. When my children came along they welcomed them in too. Chirhart left an impression on everyone he met. The waves of his passing will be felt for years to come. I am a different person because i knew him and I’m sure many others will say the same. May God hold you in the palm of his hand until we meet again my friend.
