The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Peter Earnest can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

A wonderful gentleman

We were on a make-a-wish trip to DC in 2002 with my son Daniel who was suffering from Muscular Dystrophy. Peter hosted us at the museum which was not officially open yet. He was gracious, caring and supporting in a difficult time. We had a personal tour of the museum as well as an all expense paid first class meal in their fine restaurant. Because they were not yet ADA compliant because of construction, Peter led us through the kitchen (with Daniels wheelchair) to our table. An excellent and delicious end to a great day. Daniel died in 2020, but his wonderful memories of his day at the museum, with Peter, always remained a highlight of his trip and a great memory of his life. When I saw Peter's obituary in the Times, my first reaction was to want to share this with Daniel. Alas, this opportunity is gone. I recently uncovered a Spy Museum poster signed by Peter and directed to Daniel. Just days later I hear of Peter's death. He was a great man who gave my son a wonderful experience in his short life of only 33 years. Thank you Peter, and  I only hope that the future brings more of your kind to our lives.
