Obituary for Walter Harry Sparks

Walter Harry Sparks, 59, of Hanover, PA died Thursday May 14, 2015 in Hanover.

Born July 4, 1955 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Elton Clarence and Virginia Dorian Fehl Sparks.

Prior to retirement, he had been employed with Towne Pride in Hampstead, MD. He had also worked for McDonalds on Baltimore Street and Weis Market on Carlisle Street, both in Hanover, PA. He was a member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company and was a former member of the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company. He was a member of Lebanon Lodge #175, AF&AM. He participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in New Oxford, PA.

Surviving are sons, Jason Sparks of Upperco, MD, Jeremy Sparks of Frederick, MD, and Kyle Sparks of Hanover, PA; daughter, Emma Sparks of Hanover, PA; grandson, Benjamin Sparks of Frederick, MD; granddaughters, Brynndelyn Sparks and Keighyn Sparks, both of Upperco, MD; .

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. The family will also receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1170 Kohler Mill Road, New Oxford, PA. Inurnment will be in Salem U. M. Church Cemetery, Hampstead.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life at www.relayforlife.org.
