Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Athba Hammed can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Athba Mary "Abbie"  Hammed
Athba "Abbie" Mary Hammed, 58, of Baltimore, passed away on November 10, 2015 at the Sister's Home in Finksburg, MD. Born June 16, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Janice Hammed
She was a graduate of the University of Baltimore, where she attained a BA in Jurisprudence and was pursuing a Masters Degree in Marine Biology. She was a member of The Butchers Hill Association. She was a strong supporter of the ASPCA and rescued and found homes for many stray cats. Abbie worked with the "Save the Bay Foundation" as well as several other environmental groups. Abbie was a skilled artist and craftsperson who made fine jewelry, beautiful mosaics,and handcrafted natural soaps in her spare time
Surviving are her two sisters: Cathy (James) Basil of Westminster, MD, Deedria (John) Gail Schmidt of Finksburg, MD; two nieces: Sunny (William) Long, Deeya Marie Eyler; two great-nieces: Billie and Kassie Long; two great-nephews: Justin and Jordan Eyler; two aunts: Margaret McNicholas, Judy Barile; she is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins both in and out of state.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 13, 2015, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, and 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Eline Funeral Home, Finksburg, MD. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015, 11:00 am at the Eline Funeral Home Finksburg, MD.
