Albert Joseph "Wheels"  Johnson
Albert Joseph Johnson, 86, of Hampstead, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Dove House in Westminster. Born March 26, 1929 in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late Albert and Nora (McHugh) Johnson and stepson of the late Elsie Johnson. Married Feb. 21, 1964, he is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Charlotte May Johnson.

He served in the Marines and worked in construction and then became a Fire Fighter in Baltimore, driving the fire truck. His nickname by all the guys he worked with was "Wheels". After a while he became a Pump Operator. He retired after 27 years. He had 30 years in the Carroll County Fire Police. He was a harter member and past President of this organization. He was a life member of the Hampstead Fire Department. He was a member of the Hampstead American Legion Post 200. He collected Match Box and Hot Wheels for many years and enjoyed roller skating, camping and doing crossword puzzles.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a stepson, William G. Stull and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Stull, who was predeceased by husband Michael E. Stull; 5 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; a sister, Alice Wolforth of Baltimore, a brother-in-law, Ray Brewer of Los Angeles, CA and a nephew, Jerry Wolforth and his wife and son.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials are suggested to the Hampstead Vol. Fire Co., Box 231, Hampstead, MD 21074; or to the Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster MD 21157.
