Elizabeth Shivers  Hitchcock
Elizabeth Shivers Hitchcock, 85, of Saint Louis, and formerly of Carroll County, passed away on December 30, 2016 at Laclede Groves in Saint Louis, MO. Born September 12, 1931 in Salisbury, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jay and Rose (Lankford) Shivers. She was the wife of the late Walter Ralph Hitchcock.

She was a graduate of Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in 1951 and worked for the Dept. of the Navy as a mathmetician. She got a Ford Foundation Scholarship to go to Vanderbilt University and earned her masters degree in 1954. She taught at Milford Mill High School, Pikesville High School, Franklin High School and Westminster High School and then at Carroll Community College after she retired.. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling, church activities and volunteering at the retirement facility.

Surviving is daughter, Mary Hitchcock-Reinhart of Saint Louis, MO; son-in-law, Ted Reinhart; two granddaughters, Natalie Reinhart and Sarah Reinhart.

She was predeceased by a sister, Jayne Walters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, 2:00 pm at the ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 S. Main Street, Hampstead, with Rev. Dr. Melissa Rudolph officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
