Life Story for Chen Sheng

Chen Sheng
Chen Sheng passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 after battling gastric cancer. She was a beautiful, vibrant, intelligent, accomplished, and humble young woman who cared about her family and friends, community, and education.

Chen was born in Silver Spring, Maryland to Jin G. Sheng and Xue Q. Zhou. After graduating as the valedictorian of Franklin High School in Reisterstown, Maryland, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service in International Economics from Georgetown University before enrolling at Duke University Law School. Awards and accolades (e.g., President’s Education Award signed by Barack Obama; Recognition from Mayors, Maryland's Governor, and Maryland Senator Mikulski; various internships and scholarships for her study in law; awards for her original paintings; 2009 Girl Gone Great) followed her wherever she went. She loved spending time with family and friends, watching romantic comedies, shopping, experiencing new cuisines, and baking sweet desserts.

Chen is survived by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Xi and Patrick Besha, and her nephew Henry Besha.
