Obituary for Rose Coker (Nicholson)

Rose Coker (Nicholson)

It is with our most profound sadness that we announce the passing of our ageless Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and sunshine, on Sunday, March 12th, 2017. She passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Great Cacapon, WV.
She will always be remembered as someone incredibly special.
Rose Nicholson Coker was born in Bardwell, KY, to Clarence Raymond and Mabel Edith (Berry) Nicholson, both of whom are now deceased. She longed for life in the “big city” of Nashville, and she truly represented the saying, ‘you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.’ While in Nashville, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Tennessee, and was a Healthcare Administrator for the state. In the ‘80s, after meeting her soul mate, Charles ‘Chuck’ F. Coker, Jr., she moved to Baltimore, MD, and later Hampstead, MD. Her Hampstead home, “Magnolia Manor”, was a place filled with love, laughter, and many fond memories, which included memories of her beloved miniature Fox-Terrier, lil’ Petey.
Her unconditional love of family and friends has been at the center of her life. Her welcome mat was always worn and her coffee pot was always full. People know her to be full of love, kindness, and humor, and her youthful charm and daily jokes always put a smile on people’s faces. No matter what the obstacles, she was an unwavering force of positivity. Wherever she went, she was always complimented on her beauty, and if they spoke to her, they knew too that her inner beauty was even more stunning.
Anyone who has met her will never forget her radiating warmth, joyous laughter, and beautiful smile.
Visitation services will be held from 10-11am, with funeral service immediately following, at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main St., Hampstead, MD. Following the funeral, Internment will be at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, MD, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Chuck.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Rose Allison (Irvine) Jones and her husband Wendell; her grandchildren, Emily DeMent and Colton Jones; her sister, Mrs. Ramona Tanner and her husband William; her niece, Mrs. Terre Adams, and her nephew, Mr. Randy Wilson, along with each of their respective spouses and children; as well as beloved extended family and many friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Panhandle for their expert service and care.
Heaven is a little brighter with her entry.
“Live life to the fullest” and “enjoy every moment.”
